These terms govern your use of the Rasoi app and website. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to them. They're written in plain language on purpose — but they are still an agreement, so read them.

What Rasoi is

Rasoi is a platform that lets home cooks list meals and lets people nearby reserve them. Rasoi is not a restaurant, a food producer, a delivery service, or a payment processor. Every meal on Rasoi is cooked by an independent home cook, in her own kitchen, on her own responsibility. Rasoi's role ends at helping cooks and diners find each other and keep track of orders.

Payments

All payments happen directly between diner and cook — cash in person, or Zelle. Rasoi does not process, hold, route, or guarantee any payment, and takes no commission. Any payment dispute, including any refund, is between the diner and the cook. Rasoi cannot issue refunds, because Rasoi never has the money.

Cooks' responsibilities

If you sell food through Rasoi, you are responsible for the food you make, for the accuracy of what you post about it, and for complying with the laws that apply to selling home-cooked food where you live — including any permit, registration, or licensing requirement. Rasoi does not determine whether selling home-cooked food is lawful in your area, and does not verify permits. See the local rules page and contact your local health department before you sell anything.

Diners' responsibilities

If you order through Rasoi, you are choosing to buy home-cooked food from an independent home cook — not from an inspected commercial kitchen. It's on you to ask the cook about ingredients and allergens before ordering, and to pay her as agreed. Repeatedly reserving plates and not collecting them, or failing to pay, may lead to your account being closed.

No verification

Rasoi does not verify, vet, background-check, or inspect cooks, diners, or kitchens. Information users provide about themselves — including any permit details a cook enters — is theirs, not Rasoi's, and is shown as provided. Exercise the same judgment you would with any neighbour-to-neighbour arrangement.

Your account

Keep your account information accurate, and don't use Rasoi to mislead people, to harass anyone, or to break the law. We may suspend or close accounts that do. You can delete your own account at any time — see the privacy policy for how.

Disclaimers and limits

Rasoi is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Rasoi is not liable for the food cooked by users, for anything that happens during a handoff, for payments between users, or for users' compliance with local law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of Rasoi after that date means you accept them. For meaningful changes, we'll tell you in the app first.
